Running with big boobs

One of the first questions I get from people when they see or hear I’m a runner is about my boobs.  I’ve got 32ddd boobs and the next answer is yes they are real. 🙂

People have such a common misconception about running and big boobs.  So let’s clear it up a bit.

Ladies… it is important to have a properly fitted sports bra.  Your girls, boobs, knockers whatever you want to call them shouldn’t be bouncing and flopping all over the place.  If you are wearing the right sports bra those puppies are going to be held right in place nice and snug.

AND NO you don’t need to wear a dozen sports bras to achieve this.  In fact one sports bra is all you need.  If you are using more then one … go see your local running store and have them fit you for a properly fitted sports bra.  You may need to visit more then one store depending on what their selection looks like.

Look I’ll repeat.  I’ve got larger boobs.  I wear one sports bra.  My boobies stay put.  They aren’t flopping all over. They aren’t bouncing up to my throat or hitting me in the eye like so many people joke and yours shouldn’t be either.

I use and swear by the motion comfort Fiona sports bra with the adjustable velcro straps.  I like it because I can really tighten the straps down and have control over how snug the boobs are in the bra.

So ladies.  If you are constantly having to adjust, bouncing all over, etc get a better sports bra.  🙂

Another question I often get asked is what running gear do I use.  So here’s a pic.
1. Garmin watch. I don’t bring a Phone with me so I use my Garmin for my time and distance.
2. My iPod nano for music.  Again I don’t bring my phone so I have a separate music player.
3. My waist pouch for water and salt packs etc for longer runs.  I don’t like carrying things in my hand when I run so I use the waist style water holder.
4. The normal shoes, bra, shorts etc. I typically skip underwear with my shorts especially if the shorts have the built in liner.  I’ve found that too much layering down there sets me up for friction and rubbage issues.
5. Some sort of id. I like the tags that go in your shoe laces.  Just in case something happens.  Especially since I don’t carry a phone on me.  The tag has my emergency contact info on it.  Otherwise stash the tag in your running pouch ie your water pouch.

Til next time. Safe running.  🙂

LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN!!!

I am crazy super excited, nervous, anxious, thrilled….. basically just can’t contain myself.

The countdown is on!! Need to figure out how to get the countdown timer on here. Needs a plug in and it’s not going on here right. So for now I will put it as a hyperlink because I am so excited I just want to get it announced 🙂

I am officially registered for the Cocoa Beach 2016 1/2 marathon to be held at 7:00am on Sunday October 23, 2016.  The registration fee is paid and the hotel room is booked.

Two things that makes this even more crazy exciting:

  1. It is in my hometown of Cocoa Beach where I was born and raised.
  2. I’ve recruited a few friends to start running and join in.  With any luck they will go through with it. I sort of sprung it on them, so I am just proud of them for saying yes. Now we have to get them training and I couldn’t be more excited.

Okay 1 more— there is a 2.9 mile stretch on the beach. OMG love it!!! That’s the part I am a little nervous about to.  For me beach running has always destroyed me. So I am going to have to make sure to get some mileage logged on beach grounds.  But I am ready to conquer this mental barrier. 1/2 MARATHON SET BOOM!!!

RV Update repost

Okay I’m giving you a video update today.  I am about 2 weeks into a 60 day stint of full time rv living in a pop up with 3 kids.
Sorry about the raspy voice. I’ve got a sore throat, cold, or something going on. So I’m a little raspy. 🙂

Check out my update below.  I’ll forewarn ya … I am true camping style.  No glam.  Raw.  Hairs a mess.  No make up. Barely have my damn clothes on … ha.  It’s so hot here.  Rain is kicking my ass.  Cross fit yesterday has my legs wobbling.  Yet I’m still pounding out this rv lifestyle.  Here’s the long and short.  This was hands down the right choice.  I’m at home in this full time rv life style despite some of the nuisances and hiccups I’m experiencing and trying to get under control.  Watch my video and if you have any tips, hints, suggestions let me hear from you ❤❤

Half marathon training

It is crazy super hot in Florida. Well, compared to the Wisconsin weather I am used to running in.  I’ve been getting up early to run to try and beat the heat and well there is just no beating this heat.

The other day I did my half marathon training run and then hit a crossfit type workout that of course included more running. While my legs are a wobbly mess …. I feel awesome. I am totally psyched to inch my way toward that half marathon.

I have been sidelined due to injuries the last two times I aimed for a half so I am determined to avoid that this time.

Okay now the nitty gritty part. I am a really finicky runner. Any sort of change in my running and I am guaranteed a headache.  The heat here is a sure fire way to cause a headache for me. So, I have been toying around with ways to combat it and have found one that works so far. I put an orange electrolyte mix into my water and start sipping it from the very beginning. I used to wait until mile 3 to start sipping water or anything but that wasn’t working here. For now, this new method seems to be working.

I am a lucky runner in the sense that I don’t get shin splints or cramps etc.  My issue always come at that 10 mile mark and it is stress fractures of the hip. I worked with a doctor this last time who was a runner and specialized in sports medicine. He and I worked closely together and identified some triggers of these stress fractures. So I have been doing extra foam rolling and stretching. We will see if that keeps it at bay.

I am aiming to do my half marathon in September.  Now to find one and sign up for it! 🙂

Betrayed by love not by life—sharing

As a therapist I have had countless couples and individuals in my office whose lives had been forever changed by infidelity.  Infidelity cuts you to the core in ways you never knew possible.

Sharing this from site called betrayed by love but not by life (I couldn’t find the original link)

A reader was so kind to send this to me.
If you have ever been cheated on, this is a must read:

The betrayed wife, after discovering an affair, takes such a hit to her self-esteem, and she questions what it was about the other woman that was so attractive to her husband. Was she sexier? Was she better, somehow? Why did the other woman get the best parts, when she was left with the worst of her …wayward husband? The truth is, that is not how this works. She is not better, or more attractive. She does not get the best parts of the husband.

What’s attractive about the other woman is that they are the sickest, the weakest, the most injured of the pack. The insecure wayward husband wanting to feel strong and powerful, scans the herd for the easiest to take down. The self assured, the strong, the healthy will not do as those women want nothing to do with a married man. Wayward husbands, needy and looking for someone to boost his ego, must look for someone beneath him, someone who will look up to him, someone who will make him feel superior, if only temporarily. What better way for an insecure person to feel powerful, and admired, than to pick the least of the bunch? The fact is … they always trade down. If she happens to be prettier, or thinner – it’s just pure luck that the wrapping is worth more than the gift inside. What’s inside, is no match for you, the faithful wife. You’re beautiful, and strong and probably the mother of his children. The truth is, the other woman could be anyone, anyone slow enough to be caught and willing to accept what little that wayward husband offers to them.

She accepts the very worst parts of the wayward husband; the liar, the cheater, the deceiver, the broken man. His behavior is lower than low, but that’s okay with her. She accepts trashy behavior, because she is trash and has no conscience. She has no self-esteem because she knows her value … her value as the weakest, the most injured of the herd. She accepts his cheating ways and lowlife behavior because she knows her place in the pack – and it’s at the end of the row. Bringing up the rear, it’s just a matter of time before someone singles her out, and uses her for his own selfish reasons in his quest to be admired.

So what happens when we catch him with her?

Most often he leaves her where he found her, at the end of the row, at the back of the pack – even weaker and more injured than when he found her. She’s worse for the wear. In the end, it is her self-esteem that is eroded, not the betrayed spouses’. After all, she wasn’t able to keep him even considering he was in a “bad” marriage to a “unloving wife”. Because isn’t that the way it always is? How pathetic that she’s given the answer to the test, gave it her all, and she still failed? Self-esteem erosion 101.

Retake your position at the front of the pack, betrayed wife. More often than not, it’s you he’s fighting for; it’s you he’s sorry for; it’s you he’s trying to be a better man for. Regain your strength. Retake your rightful place.

Betrayal hurts, I know. Boy, do I know. But remember, when they find someone weak enough to have an affair with, they always affair down. The other woman had to be broken deep inside in order to crawl in bed with a married man and except your leftovers instead of being strong enough to find an unattached man on her own. She had to be so broken to not care about you, the faithful wife, the children who would be wounded and all the lives destroyed by her actions and participation… and I bet she will not accept any responsibility for those actions. She will hold her hands up in false innocence when the curtain is pulled back to reveal the disgusting acts she committed against your family.

Betrayed wife, hold your head high. YOU were strong enough to remain faithful and love a man who used your trust for his own selfish desires. He has devastated your life, but you can end the pain you are feeling. Use the strength inside you to pick up the pieces and begin living again. And if you are the rare gem who has decided to give your wayward husband the precious gift of a second chance, I applaud you. YOU are invincible in your strength and courage. Take a deep breath, dry your tears for the millionth time and carry on, my dear. Because nothing can keep you down for long.

Winter running ❤❤

image

I’m originally born and raised in Florida so the idea of running in this crazy ass weather was nuts to me.
I’ll never forget the first time I went running in Wisconsin weather cold cold cold. Winter was approaching fast and I had decided I would have to suck it up and run the dreadmill because there was no way I could hack running outside in that weather.  I was part of a running group and gasped when I learned the weather didn’t stop them.
Not wanting to seem like the sissy of the group. I made my way to the running store and about 500 dollars later felt I had all the cold weather gear I needed to pull this off.
Before you knew it sure enough negative Temps were in season and after a 45 minute dressing session of the warm running attire I made my way to the group.  The whole time pissed off at how stupid and ridiculous this was.  Then it started snowing on top of it.  The whole time I cursed and through a little fit but I did it!! I finished my run with the group and all of a sudden realized I LOVED IT. I LOVED RUNNING IN THAT WEATHER.   I soon found myself wanting and wishing for snow covered roads and cold temperatures.  Not only do you feel like a bad ass running in the cold cold weather but it is so amazingly pretty and peaceful.

I stumbled upon this picture the other day and as I run in 90 degree heat these days …. Oh how I wish this is what my running days looked like.

#runnerproblems 🙂
Keep running friends.  Remember no matter how slow you go you are still faster then if you weren’t running at all.  And the old cliche of you can do anything you put your mind too.

Til next time.  Get your run on. Heather Pincelli
